Nik Cain: It is time for our last contest of the evening. It features two of the names most synonymous with FCW. One man was FCW’s golden boy, holding the world title a record four times, always sporting his trademark blonde hair and shit-eating grin. The other was FCW’s cult favorite, always lurking in the shadows, always willing to sacrifice himself or his followers to further his personal agenda. Both men appeared on FCW’s first ever card and crossed paths more than once during their time here. Their most famous crossing of paths, however, occurred within the confines of a steel cell. And so tonight, on a night where we revisit what made FCW the best promotion in history, Mark Payne and Oblivion will do battle one last time…in Hell in the Cell.

(The lights go dim. “Locust Star” by Neurosis begins to play. Oblivion steps through the curtain to loud cheers from the crowd. He is wearing a baggy pair of camouflage shorts, black boots, and a black t-shirt. His once clean-shaven head now sports some stubble that blends seamlessly into a scruffy beard. But despite the hair, the yin-yang tattoo on the side of his head is still clearly visible. And even in this dim lighting, his one dark brown eye and one light grey eye are unmistakable.)

The following contest is a Hell in the Cell match, scheduled for one fall with no time limit.

Introducing first…
Hailing from A Theater Near You…
And weighing in at 225 pounds…

”The eND Bringer” Oblivion

(He stands at the top of the entranceway for several seconds with his arms outstretched. Slowly he brings them over his head, interlocking his hands and making a circular symbol with his arms. It might be an allusion to the first letter of his name but, more likely, it is a reference to how all things come full circle. After posing for a couple seconds he slowly creeps his way down the aisle towards the cell. As he reaches the ringside area, he grabs a mic and then enters the cell, picking something up before rolling into the ring. As he stands in the center of the ring we see now that it is Evenkiel’s shirt. He looks at it as he begins.)

Oblivion: Your hands too small, your arms too weak to ever close the doors on this.

(He tosses the shirt to his side.)

The body you see before you is the living, breathing hammer of God. The bricks and cement that surround you are the courthouse in which I cast down my judgments. There came a time not so long ago when a blonde bastard flew too high and too close to the sun. And so I had no choice but to clip his wings. He continued to walk with his head held high but do not mistake this for pride…oh no, he merely looks up at the heavens that he knows he may never reach. But the blink of an eye for me must feel an eternity to him for he has grown forgetful. And so the time has come…court is once again in session and, once again, I will bring the hammer down.

Winning is easy; anybody can win.

(The lights, already dim for Oblivion’s entrance go dark. All we hear is a voice.)

“I thought that I hadn’t thought about it in a long time.”

(A quick rapid fire succession of pictures from the first time. Mark Payne and Oblivion. The Cell. Both men looking at it, determining just what it meant for their futures. The match. Oblivion hitting the eND, and Payne’s neck compacting into the mat. Payne throwing Oblivion against the cage, the blood flowing from both men. Oblivion climbing the cage. The crowd on their feet as he beckons Payne to follow him. Payne climbs the cage, as they brutalize each other.)

“That was a lie. I think about it every damn day.”

(In slow motion the most famous moment in FCW history is shown again. Mark Payne hoists Oblivion up into position for the Moment of Clarity. The cage gives away on impact. Now everything speeds up as we see both men crash to the canvas, over and over, each time the impact looking more and more severe. Finally we see both men being carted out on stretchers, the crowd on its feet showing their appreciation for what they saw.)

“They declared me the winner. I didn’t look like one. But then again, you didn’t look like much of anything either.”

(The picture cuts back to Mark Payne again. He is in his locker room, already in his gear, looking as calm as a man could be despite what he is about to endure. He almost seems to relish it, anticipate it. Payne continues on.)

Mark Payne: Tonight, I step into an environment I promised myself I would never go into again, with a man who I know has no regard for his career, or his life. Most men would walk away. The gain does not outweigh the cost. They told me, this was suicide. That I’m risking permanent injury by accepting this match, that I was jeopardizing my entire life as I know it. Oblivion, they just don’t get it, do they? I accepted this match because I could never have it any other way. They day in that cage we thought we settled something. In reality nothing is ever settled. Even after all these years, it only took a mere moment for the embers of hatred I still had for you to ignite into flames of rage. I have an unfinished job Oblivion. That job is to look into your insane eyes and see that deep down, in all that confusion and insanity, that you know that you can not destroy what I am. It bothers you doesn’t it? That someone like me can not only exist still, but that I continue to thrive. That the toll you have taken upon my body does not stop me from dominating every single opponent who has stepped into the ring with me since that day. FCW was more then a paycheck for me Oblivion. It was more then a home for me. It was what flowed through my veins for those years. I would have sacrificed everything for this place, and not thought about it. That didn’t sit well with you. After all, how could Mark Payne love anything more then himself? Tonight I’m going to bleed for FCW one last time. I’m going to put my body on the line for the place that gave me everything that has made me the man I am today. And I’m going to do it as only the Blonde Bastard can.

(Payne’s classic cocky smile flashes now.)

Oblivion, this time there will be no doubt in the world’s mind about the outcome. This time I vanquish the eND Bringer once and for all, and forever inscribe my name on the cover of FCW. You always did like being the martyr. Tonight that cell is our altar. I will place you upon it and sacrifice you in the greatest ceremony FCW has ever seen. And in the end you sacrifice will serve as the stage for the Blonde Bastard’s greatest moment. The moment when I sent the most brutal man in this industry to his knees as he had no choice but to prostrate himself before the greatness of the ONLY four time FCW World Champion, “The Blonde Bastard” Mark Payne.

(Payne stands up and looks at the camera one final time.)

It’s been your pleasure eND Bringer compliments of the ONE and ONLY…

(The camera closes in on Payne’s face.)

‘BLONDE BASTARD’

(With that, the screen goes blank and a couple seconds later, “Biggest and the Best” by Clawfinger blasts over the PA. The crowd, many of them who will no doubt have little or no voice left tomorrow, through caution to the wind once again to cheer as loudly as they can. Mark Payne walks through the curtain a truly unique mix of arrogance and intensity, knowing how good he is and, simultaneously, how bad a situation he is entering.)

And his opponent…
Hailing from Allentown, Pennsylvania…
And weighing in at 269 pounds…

”The Blonde Bastard” Mark Payne

(As Payne makes his way to the ringside area, we see that Oblivion has been busy. In the space between the ring and the cell on all four sides he has set up a table. With the last of the four tables in place, he slides into the ring and starts to work on removing one of the turnbuckle pads.)

He exits the ring and as quickly as he can, given his condition after the match, he scales the side of the cell. Once on top, he holds his arms out at his sides as the crowd cheers him, Mark Payne, and really everyone who participated in tonight’s event…except for Evenkiel…and maybe Vegan Warrior.)

Nik Cain: What an evening this has been. This building holds a lot of great memories for a lot of people and I know I just got a whole bunch more to add to that list, so hopefully everyone else here tonight did as well. In closing I just want to state the obvious. Full Contact Wrestling wasn’t just some organization that could be shut down. It is a mother fucking way of life. FCW Forever.

(Those two words are the last words we hear from the broadcast. As the scene fades, we go into a hightight reel of the night’s events set to “They Always Come Back” by the Voodoo Glow Skulls. As the song and the highlights come to an end, we close on the same shot we opened on, an empty wrestling ring. But this time, the ring is in vibrant color.)
